Amazon HD Lower Price

Amazon has lowered it's price $5.00 for it's HD service to 7.99 for prime users. With Apple also now offering a HD service the competition is heating up. Will Tidal and Qobus follow and lower their prices?

Amazon just gave me a free upgrade to HD. I've been a prime subscriber for years.
Is this Amazon Music Unlimited? There's a 3 month free trial, then $7.99 per month for Prime members.

Has anybody tried it yet?

The problem with Amazon (compared to Qobuz, for ex.) is that Amazon HD does not let the user initiate a WASAPI or ASIO session.  So, unless you have another solution everything will be either upsampled or downsampled to the rate of your Windows sound mixer, unless they coincide.
Found this on Google:

The Bluesound Node 2i successfully streamed lossless audio from Amazon Music HD from 16 bit / 44.1 kHz up through 24 bit / 192 kHz. Amazon's own apps are unable to do what the Bluesound ecosystem can do with respect to playing the highest quality lossless audio.Nov 16, 2020

I just read that there is a new improved Node coming out soon. I hope they fix the problems with them that I’ve read, posted by owners. It’s a good value if reliable.
When Amazon integrates with Roon I'll consider them again. I cancelled my Amazon subscription when I got Roon, and use Tidal. I'd have to export my albums list (1000+ records) before I could try Qobuz if I only want one of them.
