REL T5 vs REL T7 subwoofers

Hi gang, just really curious about this. Back when I was hunting for a new sub in 2015, I was asking for opinions on because my decision was coming down to two choices, the Sunfire SDS-12 and the REL T5. The REL had a ton of fans but the Sunfire dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse. He needed floor space so I got the Sunfire brand new fooner $400.

I was just meandering through subs this week and took a look at the T5 and T7. The T7 is about double the price of the T5 and my question is...is it really worth that? You could actually buy two T5's for the cost of a single T7 which would seem the more logical choice to me. So, what am I missing? Or AM I missing something.

OP, the REL T5 and its brother..the T5i are IMO the sweet spot in the T series line. Like you noted, the T7 and then the T9 are considerably more pricey. While REL have again updated their T series subs, I think the 5 series is still the sweet spot...the higher pricing of the upper models seems to make less sense. So, no, I don't think you are missing anything!
"The higher pricing of the upper models seems to make less sense. So, no, I don't think you are missing anything!".....I disagree, it depends on what you want in your system but yea your missing something.

The OP asked if for the price of one T7 is worth two T5’s...and I don’t there is any way one can state that two subs are inferior to one...particularly in the case of the T5 vs the T7 comparison.
I have only ever experienced two stereo T5 subs, placed in the front wall corners as recommended by REL, with ohm Walsh 4s in front of them. Perfect for my tastes.  With all the furniture in the room also, I haven’t had any base management issues I read about, although there really isn’t a back wall, and mostly forget the subs are there.  Until I put on Eno’s Apollo
