Boulder 2150

Can any owners of the Boulder 2150 share any sonic details about these amps? The reviews speak of neutral and transparency almost as cautionary! I do have 4tb of well recorded music. I don't have the Boulder pre, would have to try them directly from my Emm Labs DV2 or try them with my Classe' Preamp. Any pertinent information will be very helpful. Cardas Clear Beyond XLR, Cardas Clear Speaker Cables, Furutech Dedicated 20amp circuits. Joseph Audio Pearl 20/20 speakers. Thank You....

I would be looking at a good used PASS 250.8 or 350.8 much better sounding.

I'm not so sure I would agree that Pass "sounds" better than Boulder. People in either camp would likely disagree. One thing is for sure though, neither Pass nor Boulder would perform anywhere near their best driven directly by EMM or the Classe preamp.

While I somewhat agree with your take on the importance of a dedicated preamp, the VC in DV2 is quite excellent.
