I disagree tablejockey. I think their tables are overdesigned and Techdas is clearly a superior product.
Mijostyn-
I also think Tech Das has much more to offer if one is shopping on that level. My comment was just being sarcastic on the build.
These comments display unbelievable ignorance.
If you study the construction of the Apolyt and the Techdas they are quite different.
The Techdas are flash gordon versions of the original micro seiki tt's with the same antequated air bearing design from the 70's - platter floats on a glass sheet held in place by a metal pole.
By comparison the Apolyt uses a true biradial air bearing. The Apolyt is a clean sheet design using latest availalble technology - particularly in the air bearing design and execution. It is technically a far superior bearing to the Techdas/Micro design - more rigid, less resistance.
The centre of mass of the platter on the Micro is above the bearing versus the Apolyt where the centre of mass is in the same plane as the bearing. This affects fundamentally the stability of the platter.
These are just a couple of differences where the Apolyt appears to offer a better solution. There are many others.
Perhaps one of you could explain why you think the Techdas has more to offer over the Apolyt.
