I always had trouble explaining to people why I liked the early Roxy Music stuff so much. Very weird within the context of that time. A YouTube commenter has nailed it:

" This era. There is something undefinable. It's greasy. It's seedy. It's sophisticated. It's rough and slick at the same time. It's beautiful and weird. It's Roxy Music defined."

I've always been a fan of their first 2 albums (with Eno). They are one of a few bands that came on strong toward the end of their time together as well. That stated, with Avalon.
