APL NWO2.5 ?

Though I'm not able to hear this player, I'm about to take the plunge......
Is it as good as some audiophiles claim ?

I have my APL 3910 going into a preamp, also. If one were to connect the 3910 directly, how would one still use his analog? Maybe I need to contact the Rockport gentleman, since he has the APL NWO 2.5, and likes the direct connection, I believe. I do know that he will find a way to still use his Rockport.
