Surge protector without line conditioner
I think what they mean is to avoid boutique power conditioners, that are not actually rated as surge protectors. Here's my current thoughts on the matter. http://inatinear.blogspot.com/2019/04/power-management-for-frugal-audiophiles.html |
I've been using a Zero Surge 8R15W-I for the past 7 years and find it to be non-intrusive with source components. It gives me a peace of mind, but I question whether it's necessary as I live in the SF Bay Area and lightening strikes are extremely uncommon. I plug my amp directly into the wall and haven't had any problems doing so. The Zero Surge website has good information: https://zerosurge.com/surge-suppression/ |
