LYRA DELOS IS AMAZING!!!!

After nearly throwing the LYRA DELOS in the garbage, a swap out of phono preamps have vindicated this fine cartridge.  The BAT VK P12 phono preamp has transformed the LYRA into a game changer. I retract all previous statements about this Cartridge other than it I do believe it sounds best with tubes or EXTREMELY high end solid state with FET's. Music now floats effortlessly without grain, without harshness and full of detail.  The Lyra tracks beautifully and is nearly as quiet as digital( no clicks and pops).

You will probably like the Delos even better with a top notch phono preamp.  Start looking for a Herron VTPH-2a.  No longer manufactured, but you might get lucky on the used market.

I'm currently using a Lyra Skala with the VTPH-2a and find no need to upgrade at all.  Previous cart was a Soundsmith-rebuilt Clavis D.C.  Very musical, but on the thin side.  Always all Herron electronics for the last 20+ years.

The problem you now have is that your front-end will be better than your downstream components.

i can confirm a Delos into a Herron is magical. The Lamm or ARC are better…but a 2-4x the cost, at which point a better Lyra makes more sense……
Yeah, I'll probably come off as a tin-eared Audiogon fanboy with this post, but I'm currently digging the heck out of my Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley LP spinning beneath my Delos.
Looking forward to your update when a Usage Period of 150ish Hours are behind the Delos.
As for me, I'm looking forward to another train wreck of a thread where the OP calls everyone deaf and bashes their equipment choices.

Yeah, that's the ticket.........
