Been reading what’s on everyone’s turntable tonight and got to wondering…what’s your top 5?

Here’s mine:

Just Like You - Keb' Mo'
Year of the Cat - Al Stewart
Dire Straits - Dire Straits
Moving Pictures - Rush
Live Rust - Neil Young

to paraphrase Traffic “ sometimes I feel so constrained “

maybe that is the point….nothing magic about 5…and nothing magic about starting a top x or n thread alsooo.

i for one have the streamer working overtime with fresh new to me music that others have chosen to elevate…..
re RT: he does float my boat on several levels. Lucky to have caught him live in large and small venues alike. I particularly like the Live in Austin TX CD.

There are any number of guitarists, blazingly fast with incredible technical skills that I find boring as oatmeal frappe….I don’t dwell on them, nor insist that you ignore…..

carry on
Since I'm seeing a dearth of RB/Soul/Pop, I'll list my top five in this category:
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
Prince - Purple Rain
Stevie Wonder - Hotter than July
Anita Baker - Rapture

Jazz:
Oliver Nelson - The Blues and the Abstract Truth
Cannonball Adderley - Somethin' Else
Dexter Gordon - The Other Side of Round Midnight
Miles Davis - Kinda Blue
Kenny Burrell - Blue Midnight
