Very sad to hear about david_ten and his family. Disasters like this show that the people affected are not just stats or someone, somewhere else who's not somehow affiliated with us.
The important thing is that he and his family are safe. Nothing can replace the lives of those we love and who are close to us.
The hard part will be the rebuilding and/or going back as this is far from over. Reading up on what New Orleans is going through, not to mention New York and Pennsylvania, the extensive damage wrought by this storm will be long lasting.
I feel the best way to help is to continue giving to the Red Cross or any on the ground institution that can offer direct and immediate aid.
Here's hoping that we'll be hearing soon from david_ten again on these threads and that some of his stereo gear survived.
All the best,
Nonoise
