So true Jim.  I almost bought the powered 50's for my TV in the bedroom.  There was a difficult hook up situation to use it seamlessly so I ended up with a Bluesound sound bar.  Easier to use the remote for the TV with it and the wife like that.

I hope the Brinkmann is a sonic match for the rest of your system.Keep updating for the Panel members maybe thinking about going this route.

Thanks.  I'm sure I'll love it.  I have the opportunity to get a couple of the other top DAC's that I've been thinking about.  I need to get the Brinkmann in.  If I have a shot at getting the Rockna Wavedream in, I will audition it based on what I've been told by a few friends I trust who have heard it.  The price would need to be special as I can't afford to lose money when selling gear.  

@jafant I'm running all Herron electronics, amps, preamp, phono stage. Analog sources are Acoustic Wow XL and a Technics SL-1200 MK2. Digital is a TEAC NT-505 streamer/DAC, and Marantz KI-Pearl SACD. Maybe someday I will actually put up a system page.

I'm still forming impressions about the 2.3s. The Ref 1s are imaging and soundstage champs and a little warmer. The 2.3s also excel in both areas.

The Thiels win on scale. Even with 4 subwoofers, the KEFs can't do that as well.

I have some room constraints in terms of setup. I can't move the speakers very far into the room and I think the sealed design of the 2.3s is a plus vs. the rear ported KEFs.
