Polk S-8 Speakers getting old

We have 40 year old Polk S-8 speakers and they have served us well but my feeling is they are starting to show their age.  Any thoughts on what speaker brands to listen to for true analog sound. Do not want anything too tall but good solid sound across all spectrum tone and bass.  Suggestions anyone.

What type of music do you listen to?  What’s your price range?  Have you considered another set of Polks?
Hmm. Budget. Existing equipment (amp, preamp, cd, what are the etc), music tastes, room size, etc etc? There lots of speakers that can do a lot better for you than 40 year old Polks I’m sure for under a grand. Set your budget for around 3k and willing to buy used you can get some really nice speakers.

I picked up some Focal 836w a month ago for $700 ($4500 new) and that are fantastic for my tastes. If my music style was different I could see they could maybe be a big fail. So see where I’m going?  Lot of people say good speakers play everything equally well if they are good speakers. Thats BS IMO.
We listen to analog FM looking for a tuner too and music from rock to folk at medium volumes. I saw the Spendor A-2 speakers for about 3k any thoughts here.  We listened to klipsch years ago too tinny. do not want to go too high. Using a Parasound amplifier set for analog.
If your budget is around $3K, then a pair of preowned Sonus Faber speakers would fit your description. There is a plethora of models to choose from.
