I remember this guy from a promotional UA compilation called 'All Good Clean Fun' that I had in the early 80s. That's worth picking up.
Bud Freeman And Buddy Tate – Two Beautiful (Cirle 1983) 

Can't beat Buddy Tate. Amazing difference between playback on the Decca Gold vs the Super Gold.
