Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Doc Evans / Knocky Parker / Albert Nicholas / Earl Murphy / Gene Juckem – Reminiscing In Dixieland, Stomps And Blues Vol. 1 (Audiophile 1959)

The color of the brass in this lovely recording puts to shame every solid state recording made since. Recommended.
Been running my 1950’s NOS Western Electric cables
As good as they promise, tinned copper can't allow all the info through compared to OCC/OFC/silver etc.

The NOS WE are pretty good. All subjective I guess, but regardless, pretty impressed with the AQ Comets thus far. The DBS pack technology is interesting as well.

Well guys, I fell onto the new turntable train today, and thought I would post this since so many of you guys are sporting new TTs. My case is a bit different. Wasn't really looking for a TT, especially a DD DJ type table. But one showed up on CL today that I could not pass up.

I bought a "used once" Pioneer PLX-1000 w/Ortofon Concorde mkII Mix Cartridge and a Fluance PA-10 phono pre-amp. It's in "used once" condition, essentially new, purchased a couple of months ago for a one evening event. Bought it from a nice young couple about 10 miles from my house.

For a few years I've been thinking it would be nice to have a TT in my second system and also have one that was robust, that I could take out of the house to my local listening party. Didn't want anything too expensive. I have also read multiple great reviews of the Pioneer PLX-1000. When this one popped up, with all the accessories, for only $350, I jumped on it.

Hopefully I can give it a spin tonight to see how it stacks up against the Pro-Ject Carbon Debut Esprit SB w/Ortofon 2M Blue. Not expecting much with the Concorde MkII Mix cartridge, but who knows? It may surprise me...
