Conrad Johnson Premier 8 / Triode TRX2

I’ve got an opportunity to purchase a set of Conrad Johnson Premier 8 monoblocks from a good friend - and possibly a Triode TRX2 preamp; both in near mint condition. My friend is in no rush so I have weeks, even months to let him know. It would probably mean letting go of at least one of two sets of tube monoblocks - maybe both: MC75's and Grommes G101a’s. Does anyone own the Premier 8 monoblocks here?! Or the Triode TRX2 preamp? I’d like to know what owner’s think of these units and their experience with them. Thx!

Absolutely! He'll likely even let me bring the CJ's here to my home and audition if I like. I'm just getting some hopefully informed opinions before taking that on. Thx!

Definitely bring them to your house. Auditioning will like end any reluctance on your part. I would love to have owned the amps and preamp. Audition them at the same time.I bet you buy them.

the triode amps are unsung heroes in the us.  super clean and transparent sound that is valued by the asian audiophile market.  i love them but not for everybody.  

pairing with complementary speakers is a must.
