@boxer12 Your description is good.  Contemporary Jazz.   Post Fusion maybe.   Before falling asleep to it (a good sign) I heard a number of rock influences too including Mercury Rev and maybe Yellowjackets and bands like that but it’s more of a jazz groove than rock.  It doesn’t really need to be categorized though, you know.  Good stuff.  
 

I am so often impressed with new music like this but I’m so old it rarely gets much traction in my mind and memory.  I am resigned to the idea of just enjoying contemporary music in the way we used to tune in to FM radio - Without always owning it or even knowing much about it.  There are exceptions that must be collected of course. Plini, Volto!, et.al

This is a really good record. It's a double LP and it sounds GREAT! Stream it, then buy it on vinyl if you like it...
