Tonearm that surface mount without cutting a hole?


I know the Tri planar and Reed tonearms are surface mount what other arms mount this way?

Unless I miss my guess, cleeds you are talking about the DV507 Mk2. The DV507 requires a hole for the vertical shaft; it is not a surface mount type. So in that way it is unlike the DV505. But since you have tweaked my interest, I will double-check my facts.

 

EDIT. I am back here after having consulted the Dynavector website.  The info on the DV507 Mk2 states: "A fixing hole with a diameter of 29 mm is needed to install the DV507MKII on the turntable board. The distance from the centre of the fixing hole on the arm board to the centre of the turntable spindle should be 226 mm."

So, it is not surface mounted, requires a "fixing hole".  If it were surface mounted, I would own one.

Wow, good catch, @lewm! I stand corrected. That is certainly interesting that Dynavector made that change.
