Focal trio 11 be

Anyone heard these in a normal home type setting? Man they intrigue me to no end. With a nice dac and a well matched pre amp I’m wondering how they would do as a main speaker.

Have not.  However, quite familiar with active speakers and will never go backwards (IMHO).  Started with Quad 12L active, moved onto ATC 40A active and presently and quite recently ATC 50A active.

The Focal Trio 11 Be should be thrilling!  All of that immediacy, dynamics and live soundstage.  Best of luck finding your sound.

I have a pair but I haven’t set them up in optimal position yet. These speakers weigh 80lbs a piece and I’m waiting on stands for them. They are temporary on a couple of old end tables at the moment. I’m using a minidsp SHD as the preamp so I can use DSP to get them dialed in. They sound fantastic with nice dispersion so you’re not locked in a small LP. Once I have them set up these will probably be the last speakers I own. Knock on wood. I've also had Genelec 8351b and Dutch and Dutch 8c both are very good maybe better than the Focal as long as you stay in the preferred  LP.

Thanks for the feedback.
@djones very interested in hearing your feedback once you get them setup optimally.

I can basically sell all of my current stuff and break even for a pair of these. Heavily considering it.

I have a set of Focal Twin6 Be in a non treated room. They get plenty loud, crystal clear, but missing that smooth Hifi sound. Mids are clinical/accurate but not room filling like your typical Hifi floor standers. Real lows are missing, added a $1,200 SVS SB3000 subwoofer. I think I made a mistake. Paid $4,600 for the pair. Custom made XLR cables. Wondering what I could have gotten for that money in the Hifi world? I thought like you thinking I could save money on expensive amps/preamps. There is a reason they are called Studio Speakers.
