Pro-Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra plus custom LPS+ linear power supply.

Hey all,

Have any of you tried this Raspberry Pi based streamer powered specifically by a custom-ordered Linear Tube Audio LPS+ linear power supply? The combination sounds absolutely fabulous. I read on the LTA website about a user who used a custom-ordered LPS+ to power the highly-regarded Pro-Ject stand-alone CD drive and loved that combo. For $650 shipped it’s hard to beat the LPS+

Nicholas at LTA is a great guy to work with, and there is no extra charge for LTA to customize an LPS+ to match any voltage/amperage one may need. They even customize their high quality DC umbilical cable to match the unit one wants the LPS+ to power.

Hey Fuzztone, The Teddy Pardo looks like a nice piece of kit. 👍 It’s amazing to me how much of an improvement the right power supply delivers.

No Screen = no go, don’t care how good it might be. It is absolutely ridiculous that there is no screen included in some of these current streaming devices. The screen and interface is half the fun. Some don’t even come with a remote....equally dumb. For $179, my Grace digital link comes with both a screen and a remote, and it also sounds great and never disconnects from wifi....

I don’t miss having a device screen, and don’t want one on my streaming device, as I, without one, avoid any unnecessary internal circuits or power supply lines. A streamer screen on this device is completely unnecessary as well. I use the Volumio/Pro-Ject app to control and choose music from my 11 inch iPad, or iPhone Pro Max. Now THOSE are useful screens that add zero to diminish the audible quality of my setup, and which I can see clearly from any listening position, because they are in my hands. .

+1 to a screen being superfluous. The best screen to control a streamer is an iPad sitting next to you, not an LCD screen on a streamer sitting 8 feet away.
