Jbl everest dd55000

hello, I have some everest dd55000 and I would like to know if changing the drives for some tad 4001 would improve my sound?
Thank you

thanks for the answer but I don't understand what you recommend, sorry but I'm not a technician in that

The JBL Everest and the TAD 4001 are top tier products. However the TAD4001 is not a direct replacement for the driver in the Everest. At least without a careful crossover change and measurement. This would be a project for an advanced hobbyist.

Stupid idea! It would kill the resale value of the Everest's. Crossover would have to be changed.

@suso,

Look for a TAD TD 2001 compression driver it has a 1’’ throat the Everest DD55000 horn is a 1’’ throat. The Everest DD55000 compression driver is a JBL 2425H.

I would not change drivers. In fact if you’re not going to do the crossover caps yourself, don’t bother replacing anything. They were made in the mid 90’s so no need for new capacitors yet. If you’re not enjoying the sound, sell them
