Shunyata conditioners are all passive devices. That is what I use and my system which is a mix of tubes and SS is extremely quiet.
Power isolation box versus Power conditioner?
Power conditioner’s include a Bank of capacitors that seem to offer enhancements to amplification. who the hell knows what these things do. There is so much stuff going on inside a power conditioner that seems to go far beyond cleaning up a power signal.
A passive device like a Power isolation device from Transparent seems cleaner. Cleaning up EMI, RFI, and any other noisiness on the powerline is what the point is without getting too convoluted and complicated.
So has anyone bought one of these passive Power isolators and has there been any sonic change to your system?

Dear @jumia : I think that no one needs expensive conditioners as the ones in the posted link that just can't does anything better that this industrial unit. Don't distress because its very low price becase what you need is a trusty item where you be totally confident in its characteristics for your electronics and yes make a difference for the better when you have in your audio system: For years now I own two of them and when I integrated to my system I take out all input fuses in all my electronics and till today with no single failure. The best fuse is no fuse and you will listen it. Tripp-Lite is bullet proof and mantain my system fully regulated with very low noise electrical line and surge protectection.
egards and enjoy the MUSIC NOT DISTORTIONS, R. |
