Great album.

I have a very good 1958 press. Still trying to find a reasonably priced very good copy of an original Blue Note Moanin to replace my period, but not so great copy. Just can’t stomach the necessary wallet opening to buy it.

Never heard a cut from a CD or file. Sounds quite good on my setup.

It sounds VERY good on a REALLY good $ystem.

Just followed the weblink discogs and found it listed as mono.  Interesting, as my copy is decidedly stereo.  Perhaps is was digitally created. It does not sound odd.  Blakey is decidedly in the right channel, joined by Wayne Shorter.  Left channel is where Lee Morgan lives and center fill is occupied by the acoustic bass and piano.

What timing! Just listening to First Flight to Tokyo on vinyl and Tunisia came on when I spotted this thread.

celtic66- I'm a "purist snob" when it comes to Jazz and Classical from the 50-60's.

Most of the good stuff was originally in mono. It's yet another polarizing subject(mono vs stereo)subject.
