Your experience in "in their day" brands/components that you remember foundly?

I love music and have enjoyed "high-end" audio for several decades.

With this being said, I am interested in hearing what may be your

"golden oldies" that you have owned?  For me there are many that

were part of my beginnig.  The original large Advents and a Yamaha

CA-1000 started my "better gear" travels...that lead to Dahlquists, Magnepans,

and seperated from Audio Research, Conrad Johnson, early Classe and

many others.  What were your "roots" that helped your journey?

Pioneer turntable with Shure cartridge, Marantz 2035 receiver, Large Advents. Added a Nak tape deck later. Never found better. But then I say that about my first love at 15, my first really good wine and my first car.

For me, other than the usual electronics from JVC, Pioneer and Technics; it was Parasound HCA - 2200 amp and P/SP -1500 back in 90’s that got me hooked to high fidelity sound.

Accuphase still makes great sounding gear….I can’t imagine giving up my Accuphase E-650 😉

The Dynaco SCA-35 I built from a kit in 1966 when I was 20 years old. Traded it away when I got an early McIntosh system and have regretted it since. It was my first taste of good sound.

I never had one, but 2 friends had Sherwood receivers back in the early/mid 70s. Blew most everything else away.
