Congratulations. Im sure they're fine sounding speakers.
I have a soft spot for the SF pre acquisition.
If I had things my way, These would be in my room
Stradivari Homage-they're floating around the $17-20K range. Just not in my comfort zone.
Original Sonus faber cremona auditor again?
I was looking for a speaker just for vocals so l recently purchased a set of original cremona auditor speakers that needed a little TLC...dust caps dented, grill strings loose, light touch up on bases...but the cabinets were perfect and drivers were original and functioning properly..lve got them back to good condition...I've really enjoyed these for about a month and read all about the speakers and Franco Serbin......l soon became a believer in his midrange magic. Vocals, strings and woodwinds are outstanding...l took a chance last week and purchased a new set of Franco Serbin Accordo speakers without ever hearing or seeing them...l got them yesterday and listened to them for a few hours last night....there amazing, delicate, refined...hard to put into words but there everything l expected and more...pictures don't do them justice.l have Kef LS50 metas, original Revel ultima gems and the original Cremonas to compare....so far these Accordos are just a whole different league. I can try to answer any questions regarding the Accordo speakers.
I would consider getting rid of one pair of my Kappa9 speakers for the Stradaveris....but l would need a listen...as far as Sonus Faber goes...there silk tweeters and paper midranges just have such a great sound, warm, seductive, non irritating.....one guy described most modern speakers as being "hyper real"...l know Sonus Faber delivers because my wife and I have coffee every morning in my 2 channel room....we will talk about the days schedule and she will leave after about half hour...l noticed if my Cremonas are on or my Accordos....she will stay in the room until l turn off the system...That's pretty cool 😎

"I would consider getting rid of one pair of my Kappa9 speakers for the Stradaveris....but l would need a listen" Serblin was involved in the Stradivari project, so good chance your ears would agree. From the 2005 Stereophile review: "Expensive, exquisitely built, with high-quality drivers and crossover components, and superbly finished with a stylishness of which only the Italians seem capable, Sonus Faber's Stradivari Homage is, in my opinion, the finest loudspeaker Franco Serblin has designed, and the most accomplished his company has built. That was his goal, and he has succeeded."

I’m with @ghdprentice, except my SF’s are a pair of original Guarneri Homage, circa 2004. Endgame. |
