KEF LS50

Don't post often here but thought I would let you all know I stumbled on a pretty amazing performer in this little monitor.

I would say the midrange is on par with my Harbeth 40.1, treble has a tad more leading edge bite than the best soft dome but its a really good top end that never gets nasty. Dynamically they are performing way better than they should. I'm betting they would compete with the new 30.1 sonically, just a guess.

Have them running with 20X price electronics in a small office and they are not outclassed in any way. Made me want to keep throwing my best gear with them they sounded so good.

If you are in the market grab a pair, you will not regret. Saw two pair this morning for sale for around 1K, I can't think of anything in 20 years offering this much performance for 1K. You could build a world class non-full range sound around these.

There's always a chance someone fabricates 'fake' products. If we all keep raving about the LS50s someone will surely try.
My question is if the anniversary model is any different than the new model they have for sale? I listened to the anniversary model at the dealer, loved them and bought a pair, but received the non-anniversary model (the flange on the woofer has different text for each module, so you can see it and understand what you have).

I bought my pair and now am looking for the right amp. I intend to use my Oppo 105 as DAC/preamp. Does anyone think the Emotiva mini-x a-100 would be a good fit for for the LS50 in a mid-sized room?

I have bought the LS50s and for now I driving the with the TEAC ag-h380 receiver. The sound is vey clear and present. I am very happy with what I am hearing, but would like to know where I would find improvements to the sound if I decided to upgrade the amplifier. In ant event I cannot break the bank and would need some sort of quality budget amplifier.

Has anyone found a good match in terms of speaker cables? I have played around a bit but have not settled yet. I'm really loving what these speakers can do.

Thanks for your thoughts on the KEF LS50 speakers, do you know if there is a difference in specification between the "Annivesary LS50" and the non-annivesary version which has recently appeared?
