phono preamp?

I had both of those phono stages at the same time. I sold the JC3+ but still have the Herron. One of the biggest factors for me is that I preferred whatever cartridge I was using without any loading, something that can't be done with the JC3+. And if do want to load your cartidge the Herron uses a better design with those loading plugs. The Herron also had better clarity. There is more life to the sound.

Had a JC3+ awhile back found it noisy.....sold it fairly quickly and no regrets

You might want to look into a used Whest phono preamp, most people that own them only trade up in the Whest line and don't just get rid of them.
