What sound diff. can I expect from PrimaLuna EVO 400 pre and power amps VS an EVO400 int.

I like the tube sound. How much better will the sound of an EVO 400pre and EVO 400 power amp setup be than that I would get from their EVO 400 integrated amp?  (I like classical (the 1400s -1900s music) and soft Jaz.). I am into vinyl and CDs on occasion  I just wonder if the expense is worth an empty bank account, or if it would be noticeable.

Also, is the PrinaLuna phono stage for MC cartridges any good?

Another option is the EVO 400 preamp and a solid-state amp.  Any thoughts?

Thanks

Ausioman58: Thank you for your comments. That goes into a level of detail far beyond where I usually delve. Is it only the EOV 400 with that issue, or do other PrimaLuna amps have the same problem?

Are there other tube amps and preamps in that general price range that you recommend?

Of course, I am interested in the sound quality above all else, but when I spend a wad of cash, I expect longevity as well as performance. In an age where competence is a vanishing commodity, perhaps I am asking too much.

The volume control comment is for the audio neurotic category.

That volume pot is used in other popular "good" brands for some time. Ridiculous statement to make to not consider choosing it.

There will ALWAY be "better" ways to implement things.

That said, the PL reviews both "pro"/ end user have remained positive for many years.

EVERYTHING can be picked apart, including esoteric ridiculously priced gear.
