For me its the first or very early LP's of: Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South" Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer" and, Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
Hi Don. The pressing is very good. The sound is a bit different compared to her other, particularly her previous, Paris.
It has a ‘big hall’ feel to it, almost sounds as it was recorded ‘live’. More similar to how an early 60’s to mid-70’s recorded orchestration may sound like. Very full, and not so keyed onto Hilary being much more forward. Personally, I like that old recording style. But it is a bit of a difference from what we ‘expect’ from a modern orchestral recording.
And, of course, it is Hilary. Nuff said. IMO, one of the best ever.
