Custom Window Sound Blockers

I was today years old when I realized they made press-in sound blocking solutions for windows.  I have never heard them so I need a well-heeled guinea pig from A'gon to please try them out and report back.

If only folks outside would just stop making noise. Not just the windows. Wooden homes are a challenge with sheets of OSB acting as resonant soundboards.

Yes, the modern window inserts can be very effective at reducing noise coming in or going out.  And, they also add another layer of air for insulation, for good measure.

$480 for one 4'h x 2 1/2' w.  One.

Edging looks like a variant of 'shower door seal':

Even cheaper if you browse....Buy acrylic from Hone Despot or on the Lowes' down....better direct from a wholesaler....

I'd get down dirty and try some backer rod....thicker sheet stock less likely to sympathetically pickup but will reflect indoors really well...

If you've storm windows, why aren't you using them first?  Stuff thin dia. backer around the edges...

Or...move. *G*

ND is quiet...almost 'too'.....one keeps waiting for any sort of noise. ;)
