Magnepan 3.6R tweeter replacement - Any suggestion

One of my tweeters are not working, my dealer has shown frustration trying to get the proper support from Magnepan, I have also called and left messages and no response from Magnepan. 2 months now and multiple calls and not a single response. I just wish to buy a pair and replace them myself This is not usually the case since Magnepan are usually very nice and good with responses.......I like my Maggies and not sure what can be done, I am now reading some other threads with service support delays and concerns, anyone out there with some suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

It IS holiday time here in the U.S., so perhaps they've just been busy.

At the risk of sounding silly, have you checked the 2.5A fuse for the affected tweeter? I can't tell you how many times I thought I had blown a tweeter (on my old 2.2/Rs), only to find that it was a simple fuse issue. With a previous buggy amp, I'd sometimes have a channel go out, so had to do the whole cable-swap/elimination thing to debug the problem.

I only ask because you did not mention doing any of that in your original post.

I find that with the proper 2.5A fuse installed, it's actually pretty hard to trash the tweeter. YMMV, of course.
Rhanson...Magnepan never made a 2.2? They had II, II Improved, IIA, IIB, IIC, 2.5R, 2.6R & 2.7R models.

Not sure what you had, but your advice about the fuse is good. Check it to make sure.

I've seen LOTS of toasted tweeters/panels on Maggies. Usually because the owner bypassed the fuse or put a larger value in.
I have always found Magnepan support stellar and refreshing. Very responsive and informstive. I have I owned 3.6, 1.6, 1.7. PT

Yes, I mistyped. They were 3.3/R speakers, circa 1990 +/-

At least that's how I advertised them when selling! :)
Thank you so very much for the responses, I will definitely do that. I know they have great support but will try again. Yes I have replaced the fuses accordingly and I am sure its the fuse. Thanks everyone, very promising to hear this. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all
