The best speaker you ever heard?

In my opinion, the speaker is by far the most important part of the audio system. After all, it is the only part you hear. OK, the other stuff really matters a lot, but without a great speaker... No go.

I am a bit 'speaker-obsessed' I guess, and now I am wondering: What are the best speakers you have ever heard, and what made them the best?

The best speaker I have heard is the Alón Exotica Grand Reference System. While it excelled in virtually every audiophile parameter, the bottom line is that it provided the most realistic presentation of recorded music I've experienced.

db design oris 150 horn speakers ,the best speakers you can get for the cash ,plus you can build then to fit your tastes and budget .

NHT 3.3. I wish I had written down the amp that was
powering it.

I am not a long time audiophile so I haven't listened
to a lot, but my next speaker purchase will be a set
of 3.3's, without a doubt.

It's got to be the old JBL Paragon horn speaker from 1960. Incredible warmth and balance. Now very rare. Anyone else familiar with these?
