technics SA 5170.

With the aux hooked up with a cd player the sound comes out of the fm / am also.  With the cd inactive the fm dial and meter shows activity but no sound.  There is also a dead right channel which may not be related.  Any ideas?  Much appreciated.  The unit is in great cosmetic condition so I would sure like to get it operational.  I have not checked the phono.
