Opening Acts For the Rolling Stones

One of the things I always admired about the band was their choices of opening acts.  I speculate that early in their careers they may not have had much input, but starting around 1969 things changed.  Here's a link to a website that actually lists every opening act since July 12, 1962 (Long John Baldry).  I could be wrong, but I think Buddy Guy has done it the most.

In my book Little Richard and the Everly Brothers are tough to beat add Bo Diddley and wow.

Back in June of 1972 in Vancouver, Canada I saw the Rolling Stones with Stevie Wonder as their opening act.

The Stones were great, but Stevie Wonder really made it special. It was just after the release of his Music of My Mind album and put on a fabulous show.

The show cost all of $6.50 in Canadian dollars. Lol.

I saw that same show in Ft. Worth, TX in 1972, which included the Staple Singers as the middle act, and agree completely about Stevie Wonder (who was being billed as "Stevie Wonder" for the first time rather than "Little Stevie Wonder") The Stones and the Staple Singers were great but Stevie Wonder stole the show.
