If I see something online I disapprove of but others seem to enjoy.....I just go somewhere else. I don't try to COP people in the pursuit of controlling what they talk about, but different strokes I guess.

"I take exception with your first hypothesis. Why would anyone "choose" to listen to bad audio quality? " people in the original thread stated that is exactly what they do, and that they don't mind as long as the hear music. That's really the point of the question. At least two stated they did, so I figured..."How random is that?" |
MUSIC. A great thread! People forgot why the hi-end audio.
Nowadays, people don’t talk about the music and musicality. All they say is the sound. People spend so much money and effort to upgrade, and they won’t be satisfied unless they focus on the musicality.
The Opera music could be your taste if your audio system is capable. Many people like to listen R&R/pop music since their musical notes are direct, simple, and easy to understand. Almost any low-fi systems are fine with them. To engage with many classical music, a good audio system is needed. Any veil, brightness, distortion, and low resolution sounds are a interference to the listening many classical music. Also, even if you have a capable system, your ears need few hours or days to get used to the sound. Human ears don’t lie. If you’ve been listening a good music, you ears can’t stand a bad sound/music. You will notice a better sound system when you hear it. If you are around many good systems, you will notice differences and will chose your taste. If you can’t hear the difference, they are all bad sound systems. Just remember, the original music is cleanest, smoothest, and the most musical. Alex/Wavetouch |
op, sorry bud, but your original post is just plain stupid, full stop -- you get to post your op, i get to state my opinion on it plenty of pointless threads on this forum, but for this one, i am just calling out the plain-as-day idiocy of the question posed -- as it entirely misses the point of why dedicated people pursue high end hifi passionately -- to hear beautiful music, faithfully reproduced... it isn’t an either/or do foodies eat meals to quell hunger or savor via the senses? |
"Human ears don't lie. If you've been listening a good music, you ears can't stand a bad sound/music. "
Exactly how I feel. Good music based on what I like MUST sound great, otherwise I don't listen to it. Can't do it.
Thins even goes back to original thread, "is there some things certain people hear that others can't that makes them audiophile?" Right now I'm listening to GoGo Pengin " A Humdrum Star". I mainly listen to acoustic bass trio's and solos, Peo Alfonsi, Enzo Pietropaoli, Japanese Koto "Keiko", but also Opera , Jose Cano "Luna", but also Dead Can Dance Live and Mahler and Wagner, even some Shelac. My tastes are varied, BUT IT MUST SOUND SPECTACULAR. Thats why I've spent 30 years trying and I think succeeded in building a simple inexpensive GREAT sounding system.
Thank you all for contributing.
