"Blue Rondo a la Turk" on the Two Generations of Brubeck album. Wow.
There are many fine versions of this tune, but this one gets me dancing, clapping, fist-pounding, whatever, every time....and it's not easy to dance in, what, 9/8? I love tunes that grow, build, develop, and move through changes. This one just picks me up and takes me right along with it. Great melding of jazz and rock idioms, too. It's fun to imagine Dave Brubeck setting the groove and then sitting back to hear where his kids and their friends take it.

Lemon by U2 received oodles of airtime and (thank the heavens above for CD format, spun Track to oblivion and back) has a interesting funny personal story attached with. Hey, in your humble opinion which U2 album would be a all-time favorite of theirs if asked and had to choose one from your library? Bizarre. A particular course of action taken by / drawn by at an attempt deciphering one’s post gives new meaning to the word misconstrued and shear lack of intellectual comprehension at hand which now leaves know options other than perhaps a first grade spelling bee … I Surrender. |
@dabel , I’m not a huge U2 fan and my collection isn’t complete. When I get in a mood to play them, I usually pull out Zooropa or Achtung Baby. Joshua Tree is very strong. |
