Anyone Remember the Artemis EOS1 Skeaker System?

I recall it very well. It was heavy and could have a matching woofer section. The company didn’t last long, but it made quite a buzz for a while. I heard them at a show once and they really disappeared sonically.

roxy54:  Based on your memory, how would you say that they stack up compared to today's speaker offerings?  I remember reading that Kieth Johnson choose this speaker system to do the first expo of the HDCD system to the audio world, so I assume that they were quite good; I also remember that Stereophile (back around '90 or so) declared that they were one of the best speakers they had ever heard.

It's really not possible to make that judgement.  I was very impressed at the time by the boxless presentation, and they sounded very clear and resolute. I think they were built pretty heroically, so if you have found a pair in good shape at a fair price, maybe you should try them. 

Yes, I owned Artemis EOS years ago. I had the monitors on stands without the bass units. One of the most enjoyable speakers that I’ve owned.
