I like mechanical things, audio stuff especially because it affords me opportunity to explore things which are both mechanical and electrical. Looks are great and important but real value is my thing. Rolex doesn’t hit my value button. I have 2 different dive watches, both compact, one less so. One is a chronometer, one not, but both keep excellent time. The chrono, on a winder, loses maybe a minute every 3 to 4 months. The other maybe a minute per month on the wrist. Needless to say, I’d sell the Rolex, it just ain’t that pretty (to me).
I work the same way with audio stuff as well as cars. High quality but ’value’ floats my boat (which I no longer have). :-)
