Adding a sub
I’m looking to add a sub to my setup
A 4 wpc Decware Mini Torii and Ref 3A de Capos, room is 12x20 and open to part of the sides. not looking for HT sub rattling sound.
I want to add a fuller sound to my existing speakers.
Im thinking of a side firing, sealed sub under 300 watts
I looked at the SVS SB-1000 Pro but transformer whine seems to be an issue
any thoughts? TIA

I have an SB2000 and have followed SVS for years and I’ve never heard, nor heard of, transformer whine — ever. Only thing I’d say would be to get two SB1000 Pros or at least plan to add another one down the road because two are a substantial improvement over one sub for multiple reasons. Best of luck. |
I have a couple of Rel T5x subs that are great but don’t go as low as the SVS SB 1000 does. While I’ve never owned one, like @soix I’ve never heard of the transformer whine in them. Rhythmik subs get a lot of recommendations as well and are in the same performance and price range as the SVS. |
