Is it okay to run two amplifiers for two speakers

I have a Nakamichi CA- 7 preamp that has two sets of line outputs. So I use two Nakamichi PA-7aii's per channel with one speaker for each amp. It sounds better. The amp does not have a mono switch. The instructions for the CA-7 preamp: This unit provides two sets of line outputs, so two power amplifiers can be driven simultaneously, if desired. Since exactly the same signal is supplied at these outputs, either set can be chosen when only one power amplifier is used. It doesn't say anything about the speaker connection. Your thoughts? Thanks.

Yes as long as they are the same amps 

You run them as mono blocks.

If you have two of those amps, you could run them as monoblocks by running one channel of each amp per side. The benefit is zero crosstalk from the physical separation, and there's an advantage in each side having it's own power supply.  It won't increase power, but there are advantages that might result in audible improvements by way of refinement.

I did run both amps by hooking up the speakers on left and right side positive an negative terminals on each amp and it did sound better. The CA-7 preamp instructions said you could use two amps, perhaps two sets of speakers.
