Time heals all wounds?

My 12 year old desk top with windows 7 (that I stubbornly keep using) does sort of the same thing.  

Sometimes demons go inside and block performance till they get out from your unit(s)

Not working? Not powering up? No sound?

Just wait and see maybe it's temporary or ask an exorcist to get them demons away from yer machine(s)!

I have read it is beneficial to turn off and unplug CD players once a month for a minute then power back up. Supposed to help same as it helps computers.

Exact same thing happened with my Marantz.

You wisely had the restraint not to impulsively start taking it apart, ending up with a pile of screws and other parts that, try as you might, could not get back together to no avail, forcing you to put everything in a cardboard box in the basement/garage to deal with "one of these days", despite your significant other’s pleadings for you to throw the damn thing away....
