Dali Epicon 6 vs Rubicon 8

For Dali enthusiasts, if you could get an equivalent condition pair of either Epicon 6s or the Rubicon 8s at nearly the same price, which would you get?

Why?

TIA

The new Rubikore is a better speaker then the epicon 8 yet retails for half the price, so I have to 2nd bill_k.

Epicon 6 all day long.  Bing a line up , the Epicons have better guts (drivers, crossovers) and a better cabinet.  Making good inert cabinets is very important to getting good sound and also expensive to construct.  The cabinets in higher end speakers are a much bigger cost component than most folks understand.  Keep in mind that just because the Rubicon has more bass drivers doesn't mean it will have more bass extension.  the Rubicon may pressurize the listening room more fully but that's a different thing all together.

Good points by rick_n, but I still suggest finding the NEW rubikore b4 dropping any coin on Dali.

I auditioned the Rubikore 8s but they were not yet broken-in. They seemed to offer more midrange clarity and tighter bass response than the Rubicon 8, but I liked the slightly fuller, warmer sound of the Rubicon 8. It seems very easy to enjoy. That said, I do like quick transient response, and the Epicon 6 is a beautiful piece of furniture.
