Resistive Loading RP-1 and Ania Pro

I just went back and reviewed the setting for my aforementioned pre & cart. Rega's web site says Ania Pro load impedance is 100 ohm.  I looked at my dip switches on my RP1 and they were configured at 300 ohm.  Besides having to turn the volume up what I perceived as abnormally high I thought it sounded fine.    Getting ready to have a listen tonight but what should I expect to change?

Assuming "Ania Pro" is your cartridge, and that the recommendation is to load it at 100 ohms, and assuming "RP1" is a phono stage formerly set at 300 ohms input impedance and now set to 100 ohms input impedance, most likely it will make no significant difference.  But because you made a change, you will be inclined to hear a difference. If a cartridge is suitably loaded at 100 ohms, it will work nearly exactly the same at 300 ohms.  Manufacturers almost always state the recommended load impedance for a cartridge as a given number of ohms, or greater.

ahh.  I just fired it up and I thought yeah maybe it do sound a bit better.  But I have not listened to my TT in many months, been all streaming.  So I checked myself and thought that it had been so long that the only way to tell was to go back.    But now I dont have to do that.

Thank you.

PS i was considering dumping my TT but after firing it back up i think I will keep it.

so if you had the load set to low what would the affect be?  Brightness, sparkle ....?
