Why does Audiogon need my phone number to send private messages

@lalitk  When I mispelled Roon as Rune, I added a comment to my own post about the error.  I tried to edit the original post, but found out that you can't edit if someone has replied to the post.  Since I had replied to my own post, I could no longer edit the original post. 

Maybe that option is gone now as well. 

Just a few days ago, I could edit a post.  I can't now.
