Turntable hissing

I have a VPI classic that hisses (or buzz) when I play it.  I am using a McIntosh 7200; the ground is properly connected both to the turntable and amp, and not sure what else to do.  Any thoughts or experience remedying this issue?

Yes as viridian said… isolate the source of the buzz. My VPI Classic 3 sig developed a buzz in the motor which disappeared with lubrication.

Hiss is likely RFI, not a grouding problem per se.  Viridian's idea to short the unused inputs is worth a try.  But what the OP described as a hiss is later referred to by others as a buzz.
