Enamoured with Acoustic Technologies Classic

It amazes me each time I sit and listen to these single, three-inch driver speakers.  They should not be able to produce the sound that they do.  At least that's what my eyes tell me.

Soundstage is wide and deep, imagining pinpoint and the bass?  Mind-boggling.  Deep and articulate.

I'm driving them with the 40 watt iDecco and streaming Bluesound Node 2i.  I had them hooked up to my main gear, but they sounded a bit slow and muddied but sing beautifully with the iDecco.

Casita system.  Just now breaking in a pair with iPod, Luxman dock, Rega Io integrated amp, Duelund speaker cables.  For blowout price new boxed $749/pr. delivered, it works.  Full retail $2495..meh.

They are coming around and yes, for a 3” driver the bass is surprising.  Bass is sufficient and pleasant.  Nothing about this speaker is dramatic.  It’s a Toyota Corolla of speakers….doing everything adequately and nothing particularly wrong.

After break-in I’ll hook up the Sugden A21SE just to scare the Hell out of them.  Just right for a 150 sq.ft. casita.  Cheers
