Chet Baker vs. Miles Davis

As crazy as it sounds I'd have to go with Chet.

And You?

Nice to see Woody Shaw mentioned!  SO underrated.

And before anyone closes the book on Chet as a too basic, West Coast pop star, check out “Peace” on the Enja label. Or anything else from his last decade for that matter.

A little insight into Chet Baker from Bob Mover, one of the unsung heroes of the alto saxophone and Chet’s band mate for years:

As already mentioned in this thread Miles Davis had much more wider interests in music. Not less importantly, he contributed in the formation of many outstanding musicians.

Both are able to bring me to tears -

E.G, - Both playing the same tune, sort of same period //

Maybe - for me - the two best versions of this standard ever played, where each players' (in this case) souls are laid bare.

I will take bot thanks :)
