How do you decide what to listen to? Same old stuff?

I have trouble deciding which movie or ice cream I should buy.  Wine decisions are also challenging.

And then I sit down with Quobuz and surf through stuff hoping to find something wonderful to listen to - it's really hard.  Lots of really nice pictures but that doesn't help.  my time is Limited and I don't wanna make bad decisions it takes a lot of time to listen to music.  I have a wide variety of stuff I've listened to previously but I don't wanna keep listening to the same old stuff all the time.

I love it when others give examples of what they've listened to so I've written down those a few times and it works out.

So many music choices, so much to choose from.

My mood. If angry from the day, I start off with punk or some other "angry" song, then slowly change to another mood less and less "angry" until listening to XTC I love the tongue in cheek lyrics of "Black Sea" album.

This method also applies when I'm happy thus ruining my mood for the night. LOL.

Radio. I have a vintage Kenwood FM tuner I have to send in for a complete check-up before running.  I haven't figured out the antennae, roof installation?  No way, and yet, in pursuit of better sonics....

AllMusic.com has been an indispensable tool for me to research new releases, artists or genres of music. If there’s a specific album I like, you can easily jump to similar artists, albums, or music within that genre or sub-genre on the AllMusic website. I will then stream an album to test drive it and hunt it down on CD if I really love it. AllMusic is free, but I highly recommend subscribing for $12 a year for add free browsing.

It's been a few days since the op checked in, but you nailed it when you said it takes time to listen to music.
