Nordost Heimdall 2 or Tyr 2 digital cables

Anyone compared these two S/PDIF cables?

Long term Nordost user.

Heimdall is where you start if you're gonna bother with cable insanity.

4akg_ca laid out a good Nordost overview. Nordost is a polarizing brand due to price and the subjective claims of how it might make your system sound.

Depending on the level of your gear, I wouldn't obsess on the eye squinting difference Heimdall/Frey MIGHT make.

I have Heimdall II wall to speaker with Frey II in the phono section.

I have demoed the mighty Odin II($50K+ in pwr/spk/IC's) in my setup. A complete waste for the level of gear I have.

Yes you are probably right that the sonic difference is very small between Heimdall and Tyr compared to the big price jump.
My system; Bryston BDP-3 streamer, Esoteric K-05XD SACD, Diablo 300 amp driving a pair of Maggie 3.7’s. I’m now leaning towards the Heimdall 2.

I have to input my experience regarding Valhalla and Tyr.

As someone who has Tyr 2, and Valhalla 1, I find the Tyr 2 to be quite good, and quite a jump over the Frey 2, which I had for many years. And not nearly as "thin-sounding" as Valhalla 1, which has a suckout in the upper bad/lower midrange area (that's why they came out with the Series 2 cable). Even Harry (HP) heard it when he got Nordost's new Odin cables and stated he hadn't realized how "threadbare" the original Valhalla was.
