CD Transport that has I2S hdmi output, cheaper the better.

Looking for one that doesn’t have unobtainium laser mech also.
A main stream brand not too boutique, new or preferred used.

There might be a mix up with the Jay's Audio use of the Pro 2 laser assembly with the CDT2 Mk2. Since they stopped making it, Jay's now uses the Pro 4 laser assembly, despite what it states on their website.

Currently, the CDT3-MkII is the flagship, using remaining stock of the CDPro2 LF mechanics and an on-board Rubidium clock. Because Philips stopped production of the CDPro2 LF, the CDT2-MkII as built on their CDM4 mechanism [right] will be the model going forward.

You can check it out on the 6moons.com review.

The more expensive CDT3 still uses the Pro 2 unit.

All the best,

Project RS2, but it’s $3k.

There is also a Northstar model 192 on the bay listed for $750.

@davenrk  This would make for a very nice and relatively affordable combo that can do i2S, but you would need to talk to the manufacturers to make sure the HDMI pin configuration on the two are compatible because there’s as of yet no set standard and some products are incompatible.  Chances are they’re fine together, but definitely check first.  Best of luck.
