Confession: I only like Norah Jones because so many others told me to

Norah Jones is the darling of Jazz and Audiophile press for a few years.  I've heard her albums, maybe even bought one.  Look, being a musical artist is hard as hell and I can't do it, but I realize in listening to others talk about her that I'm missing something special while listening to her.

Please, without wanting to pile on her, if you love her tell me why.  What has you going about Miss Jones that makes her a standout? No wrong answers.

On Feels Like Home she does a cover of Take The Long Way Home (Tom Waits) that for me (because I don't stream) was worth the price of the SACD.

Norah Jones has her own style and sound. She doesn't remind me of anyone else, so I give her credit for her originality. Her voice is pleasant, and she is a good musician. I like the Come Away with Me album. The musicians she plays with are excellent and the arrangements on her songs are very good. She has a few other decent songs on other albums but her first album was by far the best. I play it every now and then when I want relaxing music and a good sound.

Recognizing an artist possesses skill, creativity, etc.is one thing. Liking them is another. Liking an artist because one is told to is not a scenario I relate to. I'm too stubbornly independent where esthetics are concerned.
